Bokassa has become a well-established name through their patented mix of aggressive, melodic punk and stoner rock. In 2017 their first full-length album Divide & Conquer gained a lot of attention, and during Metallica's Worldwired Tour in 2019, Bokassa was handpicked as support band by Lars Ulrich himself. During this period the band also released the well acclaimed album Crimson Riders. The following year Bokassa followed this up with the release of Live at The BBC, a digital EP containing their live performance at BBC Radio 1 in London's legendary Maida Vale studio. In the same year, Bokassa also was nominated for Spellemannprisen (the Norwegian Grammy award) as "Breakthrough of the Year".
In 2021, Bokassa won the Norwegian Bendiksprisen and released their third full-length album Molotov Rocktail. This record flew straight into the Norwegian charts, where it peaked at number 18, which is the band's highest position to date. The album also received excellent reviews in Kerrang, Rock Hard and Metal Hammer among many others. Metal Hammer even claimed that Molotov Rocktail undoubtedly was the most fun stoner record since Monster Magnet's Powertrip, which is a milestone in the genre. Not bad, huh?
With numerous tours with bands such as Mastodon, Baroness, Judas Priest and Therapy?, not to mention festivals such as Wacken, Hellfest, Download, Tons of Rock and many more, Bokassa for sure has conquered thousands of hearts worldwide and they have no plans of slowing down!
